John Robert Webster, 87 of Athens, died Thursday at his residence.

Services will be 1pm Monday, April 23, 2018 at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Edgar Griggs and Bradley Griggs officiating, burial in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Military Honors, visitation is from 11am until service Monday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Webster was born August 19, 1930 in Limestone County, he was a member of Parkers Chapel United Methodist Church, he was retired from The Alabama National Guard and he was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors: Wife: Elaine Laxson Webster of Athens, Son: Doug Webster of Athens, Daughter: Carol Webster McMeans of Athens, Grandchildren: John Spencer McMeans of Atlanta, Shaviny Webster Menefee of Athens, Heath McMeans of Athens, and Alyce McMeans of Birmingham, Great Grandchildren: Madeline Menefee and Molly Menefee, Brothers: Clifford Webster of Athens and David Webster of Athens, Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by Parents: W.R. and Mary Webster, Sisters: Sarah Cribbs, Mary Katherine Parvin, Brothers: Thomas Webster, Charles Webster.

Pallbearers: Jason Bailey, Charles Webster, Larry Parvin, Kenny Webster, Billy Cannon, Ira Whitehead.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Veteran’s Museum.
