Sabrina Leigh Bates of Athens, age 57, died April 10, 2026, at her home. She was born December 13, 1968, in Limestone County. She was a member of the Tanner Church of Christ, formerly employed by Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, Limestone County Probate Judge and Council on Aging and the Limestone County Commission.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her sons, Lucas Bates and Daniel (Amy) Bates, grandchildren, Curt (Reagan) Bates, Bryleigh Bates, and soon to be great-granddaughter, brother, Trevor (Wendy) Owens, nephew, Trey (Serena) Owens, niece, Scarlett (Kristopher) Kotrous, and great niece, Wesley Anne Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Brenda Owens and an infant sister.
Pallbearers: Jamie Bates, Hershal Swanner, Charlie Brown, Andrew Herron, Perry Baker and Jay Honea.
There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to service time on Monday, April 13th at Spry Funeral Home. Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 13th in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Mike Blakely and Mark Little. Interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
