Mrs. Rita Jean Brock, age 78, of Athens died January 22,
2026. She was born October 20, 1947 in Gadsden, Alabama to Ellis and Gladys
Wyatt. She was a member of the Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, loved being a
grandma and retired from NASA. She is survived by her husband, Pete Brock,
daughter, Kristin Hollingsworth, son, Gary (Rebecca) Brock, grandchildren,
Elise Brock, Tom Brock, Andrew Brock, and Draven Hollingsworth, step-sister,
Carolyn Stair, step-brother, Bo Rogers as well as several nieces and nephews. A
visitation will be held Thursday, January 29th at Spry Funeral Home of Athens
from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with funeral Services taking place the following day at
2:00 p.m. Friday, January 30th at Spry Funeral Home officiated by Andy John
King and Dusty McLemore. Interment will follow at Limestone Memorial Gardens.
