Mr. Henry Hoy Higginbotham
Mr. Henry Hoy Higginbotham, 81 of Athens, Alabama passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at his residence
Funeral service will be Friday, July 22, 2011, 1PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with David Root officiating. Burial in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anderson.
Visitation will be 6-9PM on Thursday at Spry Funeral Home
Born December 9, 1929 in Lauderdale County to Dewey Hobson Higginbotham and Quillie Camp Higginbotham
He was an avid fisherman, quail hunter, golfer and sports fan, especially Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves
In later years, he played golf every day. He also loved to play cards and to work in his garden.
He was a member of Athens Church of God. He was a US Army veteran of Korean conflict, a master piplefitter and an employee on Redstone Arsenal for several years. He had a zest for life like no other. Foremost, he greatly loved his family
Preceded in death by parents and siblings Alton "Pete" Higginbotham and Reese Higginbotham
