Mr. Bobby Shaw Gilbert, 75 of Athens, AL passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 @ Residence
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 20, 2012, 11, AM at First United Methodist Church, Athens, AL with Jimmy Bassham & Dr. Gregory Reece officiating.
Burial in the Ripley Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 6-9 PM @ Funeral Home
Born August 28, 1936 in Limestone Co. AL to Robert Harold Gilbert & Febbie Catherine Shaw Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Limestone Co. Cattleman's Association, serving on their Board of Directors for many years as well as several terms as president. He received numerous commendations from thet group for his service. He
was a member of the Limestone County Water Authority (LCWA) Board of Directors, serving for many years as that group's chairman. The operations building of LCWA bears his name. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Athens. Mr. Gilbert was a retired following years of work, first as an Aerospace Engineer, as a Cattle Farmer, and then from his family business, Gilbert Earthmoving.
