Kenneth Lee Wright,
The funeral for Kenneth Lee Wright, 70, of Athens will be at noon today at Spry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth Lee Wright died Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was born Aug. 23, 1940, in Rogersville. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was a 1959 graduate of Lauderdale County High School. He worked and retired from W.L. Halsey Grocery Company after 20 years of loyal service. Ken married his first love, Donna.

His memory will live on through the survival of his wife Donna of 50 years; his four daughters, Laurie and Chris Wells Sr., Wendy and Roger Hammonds, Rita Wright and Freddy Hovater Jr., and Shelly and Matt Hardymon, all of Athens. He is also survived by his mother, Bertha Pitman; and two sisters, Ruth and Milton Vaughn and Jackie and Alvin Poss Sr., all of Rogersville.

He had nine grandchildren, Jennifer and Chris Berthiaume, Kenneth and Nicole Wright, Christopher Wells Jr., Cole Arnold, Randy Wells, Cody Arnold, Taylor Bates, Heather and Haley Hammonds, all of Athens.

He was also blessed to enjoy the pleasure of five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Berthiaume, Cassidy Pratt, Conner Berthiaume, Mallory and Kenneth Wright Jr., all of Athens; and special friends, Randall and Darlene Johnson of Paducah, Ky.

Kenneth was a member of Oakland Church of Christ and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his entire family and working outside on his property. His memory and the love for his family will live on forever.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 29, 2011, 2 PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Anderson & Charles Simmons officiating.

Burial in the  Athens City Cemetery

Visitation will be Monday, 6-9 PM @ Funeral

Born June 1, 1926 in Lawrence Co. AL to Bedford Monroe Sons & Willie Pearl Smith Sons. Attended Clements Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband: David Pressnell & Son: Donny Ray Pressnell.
