Ernest (Bud) Bayless, 80 of Athens, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.

Services will be 2PM Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel, burial in Roselawn Cemetery, visitation is from 1PM until service Sunday at Sprys.

Mr. Bayless was born April 10, 1938 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, he was retired from NASA in 1992 and he wasinventor of the year from NASA, he was an avid farmer and he was a graduate of University of Alabama.

Survivors: Wife: Syble Cobb Bayless of Athens, Daughters: Dana Bayless Hobbs of Athens and Dell Bayless of Athens, Sister: Ann Eudy of Huntsville, Three Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Hobbs, Junior Beene, Drew Cagle, Matthew Tucker, Dewey Dilworth and Joe Sims.

Honorary Pallbearers are:  Grady Reavis and Bobby McGraw.
